This girl came to us with a complaint of unaesthetic smile. History revealed fall in home 2 months back. When asked about the broken fragment they said they throw it as they thought it won’t be useful. Actually the broken pieces of tooth can be bonded to the tooth if available. For this patient we did a composite restoration and it restored her smile back.
Alignment problems are a very common issue faced by the children as they get their permanent teeth and result in crowding. This can be corrected at an early stage by simple treatment if noticed and hence major orthodontic treatment for 2 years can be avoided for certain situation. This child had anterior crossbite which was corrected by this appliance in 2 weeks time.
Thumb sucking is considered normal till the age of 4-5 years after which children usually quits the habit by themselves. Continuation of this habit can result in major problems in the permanent dentition. This child who is 8 years had thumb sucking habit which has caused anterior open bite along with tongue thrusting habit. A fixed intra-oral appliance was given to the patient and she stopped the habit immediately and dental problems got corrected. The appliance was removed after 6 months.
This 35 year old male patient had rampant caries and was suffering from pain for many years. We gave a full mouth rehabilitation plan with multiple root canals and crowns in all the permanent teeth. This plan was carried under IV sedation where crown preparation and root canals were carried out in a single visit. Remaining rehabilitation works were carried out in multiple visits.
This 27 year old female patient had irregular alignment of teeth and gum diseases. We gave a full mouth rehabilitation plan with Gum surgery, multiple root canals and crowns in all the permanent teeth and lower removable precision attachment denture. Full mouth gum surgery was carried in one visit under IV sedation. After 2 weeks multiple root canals and crown preparation were done again under sedation. Remaining rehabilitation works were carried out in multiple visits.
Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is very common disease experienced by most of the children of this era. It usually starts in the upper anterior teeth and spreads rapidly to affect the remaining teeth. This girl had an unaesthetic smile due to ECC (Mild) and she was very much worried about it. We did strip crowns for her four incisors and her smile was restored.
